Two Kinds Of People

Posted by Dr. Kazumba Charles on February 15, 2018 at 1:15 AM Comments comments (3)

“Two kinds of people Today”

Ones that “Do” and ones that “Talk” to do. The ones that Do, go out and put their vision, and faith into action, while the ones that “talk-to-Do” continues to talk, but they never step out to do anything. They have great “ideals” but those ideals are never implemented into fruition because they are scared to take risks and scared of other people’s opinion.

Now, here is the problem, the ones that talk-to-Do are always hostile to the ones who go out and try do their best to practice or implement their goals, or plans or vision. They are critical, slanderous, and character assassinators. Nothing you can do in life or for them can make them happy because they are naturally not doers. Not even acts of love, honor, respect or kindness to them can move their heart.

Friends I encourage you to live your life to please God and not people because some people in this world there is nothing you can do under the sun to please them. Know your friends and know those who truly have your heart and you will thrive in all you are called to be by God here on earth.

The Rule and Reign of God

Posted by Dr. Kazumba Charles on August 14, 2012 at 10:35 PM Comments comments (1)

What was Jesus' primary message?

  The dominant theme in the gospels and the center of Jesus' proclamation was the “reign or kingdom of God.” This one phrase sums up his whole ministry and his whole life's work. Every thought and saying of Jesus was directed and subordinated to one single thing: the realization of the reign of God upon the earth.

Before Jesus was crucified, He preached only the Good News of the kingdom and after His resurrection; He continued on topreach the message of the kingdom of God. Acts1:3,”To them He showed Himself to be alive after His suffering through many convincing proofs, appearing to them for forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.”{Tree of Life bible}

The only message that Jesus preached according to scripture was about God’s kingdom. He explained that His coming inaugurated the kingdom of God. When Jesus Christ returned to heaven, God’s kingdom remained in the hearts of all believers through the presence of the Holy Spirit. But the Kingdom of God will not be fully realized as we have already discussed, until Jesus Christ returns. Until that time, we are to workto spread the Good News of the Kingdom to all the nations.

Here is a list of scriptures that strongly shows us that Jesus preached nothing but the good news of the kingdom of God.

Matthew 4:17, Matthew 4: 23, Matthew 5:3,

Matthew 6:33, Matthew 13:11, Matthew 13:24,

Matthew 13:44-45, Matthew 13:33, Matthew 13:18,

Matthew 16:19, Matthew 16:27, Matthew 24:13,

Matthew 23:13, Luke16:16, Luke 4:43,

Luke 9:11, Luke 12:32, John 18:36 and Acts 1:3.

The term "kingdom" as used by the Jews often stressed the abstract idea of "reign"or "dominion", not some geographical area surrounded by physical boundaries. The "kingdom of heaven" (or "kingdom of God") is wherever the Reign or Dominion of God is manifested here on earth. In one sense, the kingdom of God has always existed; we see that in Psalm 47:2; 103:19.

The kingdom or reign of God would not be found in the form of a physical kingdom. In John 18:35-36 when Jesus was brought before Pilate and Pilate said to him that, your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me. Whathave you done? Jesus replied to Pilate and said,” My kingdom is not of this world, if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight, so that I wouldn't be handed over to the Jews. As it is, my kingdom does not have its origin here.”

This scripture clearly points out that theKingdom of Heaven is not a physical kingdom, but a Spiritual kingdom. Most Jewsin Jesus' day could not understand this, they thought that the Messiah who was to come was going to come and establish a physical kingdom that would give thema political freedom.

In John 6:14-15, when the people saw the signand wonders Jesus had done, they wanted to come and take Him by force to make Him king, but He withdrew from that area and went to the mountain. Jesus did not come to establish a physical kingdom, but to establish the rule and reign of the Kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of heaven is more powerful than a physical, humanly kingdom.

What made Jesus so unique was his conviction that the “reign of God” had already started happening. The fundamental message of Jesus' proclamation was the day of God’s reign had now dawned. The things that many prophets and righteous people had long desired to see and hear were now present before the eyes and ears of all.God's reign is here, Jesus announced. Or at least it is so near at hand that signs of its activity are clearly visible.

The signs of God's rule were present in the words and deeds of Jesus himself. Jesus' healing and eating with sinners were signs that God's reign had arrived. In general terms, Jesus proclaimed as “good news” that God was setting about the task of putting straight the evil plight into which the world had fallen,and that God was beginning to bring to fulfillment his original intention inthe creation.

In the ministry of Jesus it is amazing to see that many people who where sick recognized the arrival of the Kingdom of heaven here on earth through Jesus. And they recognized the kingship and power of Jesus over every infirmities and power to forgive sins. Some cried out toHim to have mercy on them {Luke 18:38}, while others touched the hem of His garment {Mark 5:21-34}, and the list goes on and on. The point here is that, we need to recognize God's kingship through His Son Jesus Christ. God's kingdom begin to operate in people's lives when they recognize it in their hearts and recognize that the kingdom of heaven is in their midst.

"Recognize God's reign in your life"

The recitation of the Shema in rabbinic teaching was connected directly to the kingdom of heaven. When the Jewish people recite the Shema ”Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one,” {Deuteronomy 6:4} the Lord is made king. The kingdom of heaven is realized and one cannot simply go through the motions of saying the words. Each person must concentrate and direct his or her heart to God.

To recognize God's kingship in ones individual life means to reject all idolatry. To recognize that the kingdom of heaven is here is to recognize God's kingship and his authority over our lives. The Parables of Jesus provide us with illustrations of the Influence and power of the kingdom of heaven {reign and dominion} here on earth. The Parables also help us to understand how the kingdom of heaven operates here on earth.

How can the world tell that the kingdom of heaven is in every Christian’s heart? The world is able to tell, that the kingdom of God is active in every Christian by seeing its influence and power in the Christian lifestyle. A believer’s actions, attitudes,and character can prove to the world that God’s kingdom is here now.

How important to the body of Christ is the message or “good news” of the kingdom of God? The good news of the kingdom isvery important to the body of Christ. The Church has nothing else to preach apart from preaching the “Good News”of the kingdom. The message of the kingdom of God has the power to set the captives free, heal the brokenhearted and proclaim the year of the Lords favor.

The message of the kingdom is what can and what will give Christians the power to live their lives for God here on earth. Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 4:20 that, “the kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God's power.” {NLT} God's people cannot walk in God's power without first accepting the influenceof the kingdom of heaven in their hearts.I encourage you to allow God's influence and power to flood your life so that your life can shine with His Glory.

In this topic we wil focus on 4 things;

            1. The difference between hope and faith,

            2. Three stages of faith,

            3. How we can develop the unshakablefaith in our lives?

            4. The power of faith.

             God wants us to move from a shallow kind of faith that is shakable and that only believein Him for things He can give to us, to believing Him for who He is, as aalmighty God. We are living at a time where many Christians are consumed by the spirit of unbelief, fear and doubt.

 Many Christians faith in God and trust in Who God is, has been shaken to its coreand compromised by the challenges of life. Satan's strategy is to temper with our foundation of faith in God and to plant seeds of unbelief, fear and doubts, so that he can disconnect us from God's presence, power and promises.

God wants to give us the gift of faith mentioned in 1Corinthians 12:7-8 so that we can firmly act on God's promises with extraordinary confidence and with unshakable belief in God's ability to fulfill his purpose; In our lives Here on earth and To do what He only can do through His people

What is Unshakable Faith?

            Unshakable faith is a faith that has total trust and reliance on God no matter the situation or circumstance or the cost. It is a faith that believes God for who He is and not for things He can give. This faith stands on God, and with God no matter what?  Faith in God for who He  is a greatest weapon that Satan can never defeat. A person with this weapon is untouchable and undefeatable because his strength is in the power of Jesus Christ.

The Life of Job {Job 1:8-12}

            The life of Job is a good example of a person who has unshakable faith and trust in who God really is. True faith in God remains unshakable even when everything you have is taken away from you.

Hebrews 11:1,

             "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

 Many of us have developed hope in our lives more than we have developed our faith in God and in His Son Jesus Christ. We have more hope in our lives and little faith inGod's ability to do what He only can do. Hope is good, but not good enough totake us where God wants us to go.

 "The Differencebetween Hope and Faith"

            Faith isdifferent from hope. Having hope is not the same as having faith. Many of ususually operate under "hope" more than we operate under faith. Not that having hope, is not good but we have to understand that having hope is notthe same as having Faith.

Hope is always in the future and it points us to the future.For Example;

            1. We hope God one day changes ourNation,

            2. We hope God one day touches ourfamily

            3. We hope God one day heals us.

 Hope is great but it is not faith. Hope is not powerful enough to move the mountains or calm the storms in our lives. Hope can give us the confidence to go through something, but only faith will give us an assurance that things are changing now in our lives by the power of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit, even if it is not visible to us.

"The Goodness of Hope"

            Psalm31:24, 42:11, 71:5

            Romans 15:4

What is Faith?

  • Faith is complete trust or putting our confidence in God. Faith is the Hearts response to God's character.
  • Faith honors God and God honors faith.
  • Faith stands for full assurance in the Heart and not in the mind.

In the Hebrew thought to havefaith in God is not simply knowing that God exist or knowing that he will act, rather it is that the one with faith will act with firmness toward God's will.

  • It is God's will to Heal
  • It is God's will to deliver his people
  • It is God's will to set the captives free
  • It is God's will to mend the broken hearted
  • It is God's will to prosper His people

Faith is always in the now because God is a now God. We believe now that God is changing our nation, touching our family and healing us now. Yes hope is deeply connected to faith but the twoare not the same?

 Example Mark4:35-{Jesus and his disciples crossing the see}

In Mark 4:35 we see that Jesus'disciples had hope but not faith. They hoped Jesus would do something about the storm, but they had no faith that the storm would not kill them because the master was on board.

Hope only gives us the confidence that God will one day do something for us. But Faith gives us an assurance that we have indeed received from God now.

  Mark11:24,"Therefore I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for-believe that you have received them, and you will have them."

Faith is what inspires God to act on our behalf. It is only by faith that we receive the promises of God. Without faith it is impossible to inspire God to do something for us or to move in us.  Every promises of God can only be obtained by Faith and by faith alone, Romans 4:16.

  •   Mental Faith- This is the kind of faith that is only believed in the mind, but not convinced in the heart
  • Emotional Faith-This is a kind of faith, which is caused by emotions due to circumstance or situation.
  • The unshakable Heart Faith (Mark 11:23)-This is a faith that believes God both in good or bad times. It is a faith that believes God for who he is and not for what he gives. And it is a Faith that depends on the character, power and nature of God.

People in the Bible who had a Heart Faith

       1. Job- a Manwith uncommon faith.

       2. Noah

       3. David-Psalm23

       4. The womanwith the Issue of Blood

      A heartfaith is a kind of faith that is believed in the heart without any doubt. It is a faith that says,” even if I parish-I parish," I will trust and believe in the unchanging character of God no matter what.

  How can we develop the unshakable Faith of the Heart in our lives? Unshakable faith can only be developed in our heart by;

  • Reading and studying the Rhema word of God, because Faith originates from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10: 17. {Personal devotion, is key to developing unshakable faith inGod}
  • Unshakable-heart faith is developed by believing in Jesus Christ, because the one who believes Jesus Christ can never be put to shame. {Romans 10:8,} and believes in God himself {John 12:44}.
  • To developed unshakable faith in our lives we need first to break the strongholds of unbelief, fear and doubt in your life.

             Mark 11:23,"I assure you: If anyone says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done forhim."

  • Unshakable faith is developed by understanding the magnitude of the power of God and His ability to do what He only can do.

            Isaiah 40:28-29,"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the creator of the whole earth. He never grows faint or weary; there is no limit to His understanding. He gives strength to the weary, and strengthens the powerless."

  •  Unshakable faith can be developed in our lives by Waiting upon the Lord.

            Isaiah 40:31,"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

  •  Unshakable Faith is developed by praying to God and by praise and worship.
  1. Prayer gives us the power and confidence to patiently wait upon the promises of God to come to pass.
  2. Praise inspires us to rejoice in God, while we are patiently waiting upon Yahweh's promises to be fulfilled.
  3. Worship expands and enlarges our faith into unshakable faith.

Prayer + Praise and Worship=Unshakable and Reviving Faith.

Hebrews11:1 tells us how powerful faith is. Faith is powerful; faith is what we need to live for God unshakably here on earth.

 Faith attracts the presence and power of God and God honors and responds to faith.

Example: Samson

            Samson prayed earnestly,"Oh, God please forgive me for my sins and please use me for your glory one more time." God responded to Samson's faith in Him by giving him back his power. And Samson stretched his might arms around the two pillars and pulled them and the temple crashed killing 3,000 Philistines. {Judges 16:23-30}

            Faith is not only for obtaining things from God; faith is for walking in God and with God regardless of your life situation. Faith is not for selfish gain, faith is for believing in the unchanging character and powerful nature of God.

 Faith glorifies God and faith benefits the body of Christ and the people in ourcommunity.

            Faith is what brings us and what brought us closer to the heart of God, through His Son Jesus Christ and it is Faith that keeps us going in Him. A lot of us are drained and tired with life, simply because our faith has been tempered with by the enemy.

             The spirit of unbelief, fear and doubt has crippled our lives. We are fearful of doing anything for God, but God wants to break this spirit today and gives us freedom to live with him in a powerful way. I speak freedom to you from the spirit of unbelief, fear and doubt in Jesus name! be free Amen!!

God's Plan For You

Posted by Dr. Kazumba Charles on May 2, 2012 at 8:35 PM Comments comments (1)

Jeremiah 29:11,"For I know the plans I have for you, this is the Lord's declaration, plans for your welfare, and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

God has a plan for each one of us, but His plans for us is like a picture puzzle that does not make any sense in the beginning. He has given us His word to help us understand His plans and purpose for our lives. But most of the times the Word of God is like a picture puzzle of thousands of pieces. As we first read it much of it is difficult to understand and does not make any sense, like the many pieces of the puzzle don't make sense. And most of the times we don't recognise where each piece goes or what it represents, but after sometime of shuffling and trying we discover where each piece goes and we discover also that every piece of the puzzle is important.

God's plans for our lives is like that of a puzzle that does not make any sense in the begin at all, but once everything is in it's place it makes sense and life shines brighter than the star because of the Glory of God that is revealed through His plans.

Be he encouraged today and don't give up living for God. Pursue Him with all your heart and don't let the spirit of the world over take your love for Jesus Christ and for His people. He is the only way and the truth (John 14:6). Keep shuffling through the pieces of life, and help others place their pieces together through the word of God as we wait for the returning of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is here to help you and to empower you to be a channel through which God touches and transfoms His people into His Glory.

To see the plans of God for your life come to pass you need to;

1. Refresh yourself every day with the word of God

2. Pray at all times (1 Thessalonians 5:17), because God is read to listen to you (Jeremiah 29:12)

3. Have faith and be confident in the power of God (Matthew 21:21)

4. Trust in the unchanging character of God (Proverbs 3:5)

5. Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light

6. Continue praising and worshping God for who He is and not for what you desire from Him

God's plans for you and I is welfare ( in Hebrew Shalom) and not evil, or calamity. Trust in Him and never give up, continue to seek after Him and allow Him to put your life puzzle together. He loves you and He wants the best for you. Never allow circumstances to blind you from seen God's plan for your life, he has a plan for you and in response to that plan you must live for Him alone and help others see God's plan for their lives too.

Don't worry about tomorrow, the one who created you will give you food to eat, water to drink, and revive your life all you have to do is focus on Him alone and not on your situation or man. He alone is God

A Persistent Heart

Posted by Dr. Kazumba Charles on September 10, 2011 at 11:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Our "Persistence" in prayer to a God who hears and who is willing to answer our prayers is one of the greatest weapon in our lives that we can never-ever live without. The word "persistance" or " to persistent" simply means-refusing to give up or let go.

A Jewish man named Choni the "circle drawer," Once they said to him,"pray that rain may fall." He answered,"Go out and bring in the passover ovens that they be not softened by the rain.

He prayed, but the rain did not fall. What did he do? He drew a circle and stood sighting it {that is why he was called Choni the circle drawer} and said before God, "O Lord of the universe, your children have turned their faces to me, for that I am like a son of the house before you. I swear by your great name that i will not stir from here until you have mercy upon your children."

Rain began to fall drop by drop. He said,"I have not prayed for such rain, but for rain that will fill the cisterns, pits and caverns. It began to rain with violence. He said," I have not prayed for such rain, but for rain of goodwill, blessing, and graciousness." Then it rained in moderation.

Important things we can learn from this true story are;

1. Choni's persistent faith in God,

2. Choni's persistent prayers to God,

3. Choni's trust in the God who answers prayers,

4. Choni's precise request from God { rain of goodwill, blessing and graciousnes}

This true story teaches us that we can't give up on God and stop praying simply because we haven't yet seen or received that which we are seeking from God. But as long as we haven't yet seen that which we are seeking from God, we need to persist in prayer, and continue praying untill God answers our petition.

Sometimes life can be full of challenges, people may discourage you, oppose you, even call you names, but your persistence in prayer and your trust and faith in the living and powerful God will cause you to receive something greater from the hand of God. Never give up your "persistent prayers" to God, because your persistence in prayer will pay off.

Persistent prayer and faith works and brings the desired results. Whatever you are trusting and believing God for, will come to pass. Just focus on God and not on what people think or say about your "now" situation. God is going to bring some visible changes in your life situation, don't give up.Stand firm and strong in Jesus.

The Bible is full of persistent men and women of God, who refused to give up or give in, and God granted to them their requests. I encourage you to make sometime and read the following scriptures and see it for yourself how a"persistence heart" always overcomes every obstacles in life.

1. The persistent Widow in, Luke 18:1-8

2. Faith of a Canaanite Woman, Matthew 15:21-28

Sometimes things don't come to us so easily, we need to persist in prayer to God and call them forth and God has promised to answer our prayers. Jeremiah 33:3 says that," call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know."

Avoiding the spirit of Familiarity with God

Posted by Dr. Kazumba Charles on June 29, 2011 at 8:05 PM Comments comments (6)

Familiarity With God- A Disease of the Heart

        We are living at a time and in a generation that is easily becoming too familiar with who God is. Many people today have no fear of God and have easily taken God for granted. There is a great danger that comes with being too familiar with God. In this topic  I would like to help us avoid the "spirit of familiarity" with God that is sweeping through the christian world today. Familiarity with God is a Disease of the heart and a dangerious spirit that must be avoided in our lives and the Church.

We cannot treat God as nothing and at the same time expect Him to do something for us. But when we honor His name, honor Him for who he is and reverence His name, He will do greater and mighty things in our lives than ever before. When we honor His name He honor's us with His presence and power. Honoring God's name also means to honor His house-the Church. The problem is that we have turned the church into our dwelling place instead of His dwelling place. Our voice, opinion, will and desires are bigger than God's. We worship "self" more than we worship Him and yet we desire Him to do something big in our lives. We need healing from the spirit of familiarity with God if we are to see the manifest power of God in our lives.

  • Do we want to get God's attention and to have Him look our way in our lives?
  • Do we want to walk in the power of God's presence?
  • Do we want God to come through in our lives, and nations?
  • And do we want to see the Real Revival Fire burning in our lives, in our communities and nations?

      if our answer is yes, then we must avoid by all means growing too familiar with who God in our lives that means we change our attitude towards God and honor His name above everything else. The Church today is not experiencing a tangible presence and power of God simply because of  the "spirit of familiarity" that is sweeping through the hearts of men and women in Churches around the world.

What is missing in most Churches around the world is God Himself. We can all agree that God is missing in our Chuches simply because we the people have become too familiar with Him. We dishonor God in our attitudes, deeds and actions. No wonder we can't see His power in our lives. Whenever God is honored and higher lifted up, He pours out His Spirit, power and presence upon his people. When we draw near to Him, He draws near to us too.

 You know, "familiarity with God" to a believer is only valuable as it pertains to the principles of God that never change. In being“familiar” with them;

  • I stay out of trouble,
  •  I give honor and glory to Him
  •  I respect the leaders he has placed over me,
  • I respect other believers regardless of their background, race and nationality
  • I respect the House of the Lord.
  •  I keep the fear of the Lord in my heart.
  • I Love God with all my heart and love others
  • I commit my life to living for Him by supporting and attending my local church
  • I honor God with my money {tithe and offerings}
  • I pray at all times and every season no matter the situation in my life

        Proverbs 9:10,"Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment." {NLT}

        Psalm 111:10,"Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom." {NLT

 By this familiar knowledge, I know whom my father and my savior is as the most powerful God of all time, the creator of the heavens and earth, the sea and all that is in within them. And I know in whom I believe and put my trust in the God of the Universe.

The Danger of Being Too Familiar with God

     Leviticus 10:1-4, “ Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu put coals of fire in their incense burners and sprinkled incense overthem. In this way, they disobeyed the Lord by burning before him the wrong kind of fire, different than he had commanded.  So fire blazed forth from theLord’s presence and burned them up, and they died there before the Lord.

Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord meant when he said, ‘I will displaymy holiness through those who come near me. I will display my glory before all the people.’” And Aaron was silent.

   In this account we see that Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu had become too familiar with God and they thought that they could offer any thing to Him at anytime. They had been around the Temple of God at lest for a while and because of their familiarity with God they lost their fear for the Lord, God.

In Leviticus chapter 7:34-36, “we read that Aaron’s Descendants where a chosen people, chosen by God to serve Him as Priests and the special gifts presented to the Lord by the Israelites had been reserved for Aaron and his descendants from the time they were set apart to serve the Lord as Priests."

May be the feeling of been a chosen people by God to serve Him as Priest, made them think that they were too special to God to do anything they wanted. Not with Yahweh, God, He is not a respecter of a Man; you have to follow his instructions carefully with respect and honor to His name.

The strongest battle the children of Israel fought in within themselves during their Journey into the Promised Land was the spirit of familiarity with God. The spirit of familiarity with God was one of their biggest problem for 40 years in the wilderness. They easily become familiar with Yahweh and turned idols. and they got too familiar with their leader Moses, at some point they could not even show respect to him as their chosen leader. {Numbers 12:10}

Today, the biggest battle the Church is facing is the “spirit of being too familiar with God," by men and women of God.  God's chosen People, chosen to lead the communities and nations into His presence no longer have fear and reverance for His name. What is sad yet, is that some church leaders do not even care that God is not moving in their lives, in their churches and in the lives of the People they lead as long as they get their pay cheque.

Most Christians have lost their Focus, fire, desire, passion and hunger for God and for His sweet presence.  They experienced his presence and power at one time, but today they walk empty and without God's power. We people of God have forgotten that He is still the greater I am, the God who need us to honor and to fear Him for who He is and not for what He gives us or can give to us.

We act religious in public, but our attitude and deeds are far away from God and from His presence. No wonder we walk without hope, and lifeless, because Yahweh is not present in our lives.  We have to turn back to God now, if we are to see things shift in our lives. We need revival not only when we are in Church but every day and every where we go. We need Jesus to ressurect our passion, focus, desire and hunger for Him and for His word. The time is now and do not let it pass you by. Turn your heart to God.

Remember that day you first gave your life to the Lord. All you desired was God and his word; you could not go a day without reading the bible, worshiping and praying. You always come to Church rushing and expectant of God's power to touch and change your life and fill your life with His presence. But what has happened to your passion for God? You have allowed the spirit of Familiarity with God to take over your life. It is not too late and it is not over for you yet, return to Jesus and give him your life, your time and you all heart.

 The dangers of Familiarity with God is that;

  • Familiarity causes us to look backwards at what worked in the past to copy and then recreate it. This is a deadly way in regards to the kingdom of God because the Kingdom of God is always advancing into the a new thing. {Isaiah 43:18-19}
  • Familiarity with God causes us to lose the respect and fear for the Lord and for his chosen leaders.
  • Familiarity with God, causes us to lose respect and honor both to God and to his house {John 2:16}. Jesus rebuked the people who had turned the house of God into a market place because of their familiarity with God.
  • Familiarity with God causes believers to think that Godis with them and yet He has left them.
  • Familiarity with God prevents the Holy Spirit from working effectively both in the Church and in the lives of Christians.

 How we can avoid familiarity in our Lives:

  • By renewing our minds with the word of God constantly{Psalm 26:2}
  • By spending time with God in prayer
  • By coming to Church with an expectant heart
  • By responding to the presence of God always
  • By seeking after God and making him number one in our lives.

     When we become too familiar with God and who He is, we begin to lose the value of his greatness, mercy and his forgiving power. Imagine, you buy a new car and you love it so much. You wash and clean it at least once or twice in a day but as days and years goes by, you slowly stop cleaning it regularly and you slowly stop caring or looking after it so well.  if you spill some tea in your car you don't even care. Why? Because you have become too familiar with your car, such that you don’t even care about it anymore. It has lost its value to you and it is not valuable any more to you as it used to be when you first bought it.

This is the same attitude we bring with us into our relationship with God, God is only valuable when we are sick or in need and afterwards he is not valuable to us anymore. When we are looking for a job, a husband or a wife, we are powerful intercessors, but when God answers our prayers we say good bye.

              When we first gave our lives to the Lord we chased after Him day-in and day-out, He was all we ever wanted and nothing else but today we have become too familiar with Him and we want Him to chase after us and not us chasing after him. Turn to Jesus! Turn to Jesus today. The church hasn’t got a problem with getting down the power and the presence of God to come, but it has the problem to keep the power and the presence of God through out. This was the problem with Israel duringtheir 40 years in the wilderness they could not keep the presence of God.  In which way have you become too familiar with God? Is it in your life style, your desires? Or is it your attitude towards Him and towards His leaders?

                 I break that spirit of familiarity over your life in Jesus' name., may your heart fear the Lord and reverence His name and may you experience a turn around in your life as you return your heart back to Jesus. And I also break the spirit of destruction over your life. Amen

Like Father-Like Son {Walking in Peace}

         Children resemble their Parents not only in appearance, but also especially in behavior and deeds. Believers in Christ {Children's of God} should desire to be more like their Father in heaven. To be a Child of God, men and women must be like Him. That means that we should desire to walk in His character and in all of His attributes.

        In Philippians 2:5, Paul writes to the Philippians encouraging them to have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Jesus had the character and nature of His Father in heaven. He was merciful, compassionate, humble, caring and loving. Here on earth Jesus in all His ways and deeds showed the all world everything about His Father’s character and attributes. Jesus was like God both in deeds, character and nature {like father-like Son}, He did everything just like God would do.

      God calls us His children {1 John 3:1}, so we must live as His Children demonstrating His character and nature in all of our ways and deeds. We believers in Christ {Children's of God} should desire to be more like our Father in heaven. To be a Child of God, men and women must be like God the Father both in their action and deeds {1 John 3:7-10}. That means that we should desire to walk in His character and in all of His attributes.

      Our Father is Peaceful-so we must walk in peace, our Father is love-so we must walk in Love, Our Father is merciful-so we must show mercy to others, our Father is forgiving-so we must walk in forgiveness and our father is righteous, so we must be righteous. If we claim we are God’s children, then we must demonstrate His character in our lives since we bear His name.

     Matthew 5:9,” Blessed are peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Those who promote God’s shalom are called God’s children because they reflect the character of their heavenly Father. God is peaceful, so His children must be peaceful; the peacemakers will be called the "Son's of God.

     When one receives Jesus Christ his or her old nature is cast aside and now must adopt a new nature and character of Christ. He puts to death what is earthly in him, the old self and practice {Colossians 3:5-10} and he puts on the new self, which is renewed in the knowledge after the image of the creator.

    How do people know that indeed we are the children of God? People know if we are Son’s of God not by our spiritual talk, but if we don’t walk in anger, malice, un-forgiveness, and slander, talk worthless things and do not lie to one another. If we walk in all these things the character of our Father in heaven is not in us. The name of God has been tarnished in our society today by our actions, and deeds. When the un-believers look at us, a people who bear the name of God act in ungodly manner they question if God is indeed in us. We must desire to imitate Christ in our lives and demonstrate His nature and character every where we go.

      It is high time the Churches {Pastors }in our communities made peace with one another and unite to lead the People of God into the Presence and Power of God here on earth. God is peace, so His son's and daughter's must seek to make peace first with God, and then with all humanity. How do we know that we have made peace with God? we know that we have made peace with God by making peace with others.

    A Heart that forgives is a heart that knows fully very well that it has been forgiven. A person who does not forgive, he has not yet experienced forgiveness from God our Father. Jesus Christ is not coming back for a divided church, but for a glorious Church. He is not bringing different tables for different Churches or denomination, but he is bringing one table and from that table all the children of God shall eat from. Praise God!!!

   The time is now and right for the Church to demonstrate that, like God the father She is peaceful. Jesus places a high value upon a full and meaningful life which is lived in peace and harmony with God and other people. It is impossible to make or walk in peace with others if you haven't yet made peace with God first. When you have peace with God, then you can have the power to make peace with others why? because you have the Spirit of God that enables you to forgive others regardless of their "sins" to you. By pursuing peace we will be like God and we will be called the Sons of God. Matthew 5:9

     God is calling the Church to unite so that the rain of His Presence and Power can pour out from Heaven like never before. In Acts 2, when God's people where united and in one accord, God poured out His Spirit upon each and every one of them. We have to understand that these people {In Acts chapter 2} came from different backgrounds, but because of a noble vision that was in their heart, they where united so that they can experience something powerful than themselves and then their personal ambition to change the Spiritual History of the world.

      Today any powerful believer in Christ is as a result of what happened on that day of Pentecost. Today God wants communities to Experience Revival, but only if the Church {Pastors} unite towards one goal, will communities experience a new breath of Revival. A single church cannot carry revival alone, Yes she can spark revival in the land but she needs other Churches to carry and spread the fire of revival to all the nations. Pastors with a heart of Revival and a heart of God needs other Pastors in the area to strike the fire of revival in their town.

      The Church needs one another so that she can touch the nations for God. People in the world are suffering today for the most part simply because of the selfishness of those in who are leadership. Imagine how the world would look like if all the powerful men and women of God, with different talents and gifts can set aside their doctrinal difference and unite to serve a hurting world with one goal, one purpose and with  no pride? the Church would be a powerful house in our communities that can never be moved or shaken.

1 Corinthians 16:13,"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong."

As the Corinthians awaited Paul's next visit, He encouraged them;

  1. To be on guard. They were to be constantly watchful for spiritual enemies that might slip in and threaten to destroy them whether it be divisions, pride, sin or disorder.
  2. To stand firm in what they believed-that is, the gospel that they had been taught in the beginning, the gospel that had brought them salvation.
  3.  To be courageous so that they could stand against false teachers
  4. To be strong, with the strength given by the Holy Spirit; and to do everything with love because without love, they would be no more than prideful noisemakers.

In another way Paul was simply telling the Corinthians that,"yes you will make it" all you have to do is to be on guard, stand firm in the faith, be men of courage and be strong. It is very easy to lose focus and to get discouraged in the world we living in today. Some of the things that discourage God's children are the negative words of man and the problems we face sometimes. Do you know that the word "problem" is simply a human defination of an opportunity to grow?

The problems you may be facing today are simply an opportunity for you to grow and to get to a higher place. Don't let the negative words of man cause you to lose your focus, faith, hope and trust in God. Infact the negative words of man should cause your faith to raise up even to a higher degree because God is the only one who has a final say over your life. It is not over until God says so. Don't lose your ground be on guard, stand firm, be courageous and be strong, the battle is not yours, your battle belongs to God. He is and will fight for you.

I want to encourage you today that "Yes you will make it in life", don't let the negative words of man hold you back God is with you. The young David, when he wanted to take over the challenge and fight Goliath, his brothers discouraged him, but his faith in God caused him to stand firm, to be courageous and to even get stronger to God's glory. And he took Goliath out with just one stone. When people tell you that you can't do it or you can't make it, that should cause you to stand firm in your faith and trust in God who can do all things through you. By trusting in the power and presence of God you can change the history of your life and change someone elses. Don't give up now, you have come a long way and you will make it my friend because the one who created you in His own image He is powerful than your problems.

Just because someone failed to make it in life, doesn't mean that you too will fail. Yes we learn from the past mistakes of those who have gone before us, but we should not allow their failures to be our failures. Lift your head up, God is with you and He will see you through. Amen

Did you know that life is not easy? Yes, Life is not easy without Jesus Christ in our lives, Why? because Jesus is the source and giver of every life. Any life that is lived without Jesus is bound to collaps one day.

Many people try to find their life in money, or from many other things but it turns out that they are still not happy and lifeless why? because there is nothing in this world that can give and sustain life apart from the presence and power of God in us.

If you are depressed or stressed out in your life today, I would like to challenge you to check your source of life. Make Jesus your source of life and He will never let you down. Let not the bad things that has happened in your life in the past to control your day-to-day happiness, but allow the Holy Spirit to minister life into your dry bones. Never lose your hope, faith, confidence, vision, focus and dream. God will come through in your life no matter what you are going through today.
